Shoe of the Day # 15

Ok, remember a few months ago, Target introduced Missoni for Target?  If you do remember, you also remember how HUGE it was, causing crowds/sell outs the first day and causing Target's website to crash from so many online hits!  People seem to LOVE the ZigZag pattern!  I just don't get it.  Its cute, but not be-there-at-store-opening-and-fight-crowds cute.

Celebs love the Missoni for Target line, even though they can afford the "regular" Missoni (which one maxi dress sells for $1645.00 @ Nordstrom)!
Camilla Belle, Emma Roberts, Camila Alves,  Elizabeth Olsen, & Rachel Zoe (not pictured)
Maybe its just me, however, the ZigZag pattern is a bit too.....loud for my taste, at least as the main feature out an outfit (ie: sweater, dress, or pants).  I could totally get behind it as an accent, though (ie: a clutch, scarf, or shoes), which brings me to the Shoe of the Day!

Fran.  Very cute, very HIGH wedge with the ZigZag!  Fran is one of 3 shoes with the ZigZag pattern.  They make me wish Spring were here, even more than I already do (73 days until Spring begins, but who's counting the days?)!  Put Fran with a simple, understated outfit and have the ZigZag be the focal point of the outfit without the overkill!

Outfit:  Sweater/Sequin Tank/Jeans, Old Navy.  Handbag/Shoes, ShoeDazzle.  Earrings/Bracelets, Charlotte Russe.

Outfit: Look for Less

Ok, so Randi (@rjohnson355 on Twitter) challenged me to take the outfit from Shoe of the Day #12 & recreate it in a more budget friendly version.  I thought....Pssh, easy-peasy.  Um, wrong.  Do you know how hard it is to find an affordable,  PRETTY green cardigan (instead of the lime green ones) that is IN stock?!?!  Not easy.

This is the outfit that I was challenged to recreate. The cost of this outfit is: $303...NOT including the cardigan, handbag, and ring, as those are "sold out" and the price was not listed.  Being on the optimistic side, I'd guess the cardigan to go for (aprox.) $19.99, the ring (aprox.) $10.99, & handbag (aprox.) $35.00.  This would bring the total to $368.98.

Here's what I came up with to get the look for less:

Ok, I switched the main color to white, instead of green, for two reasons:  1~ like I said, a green cardigan is relatively hard to find in stock for a good price, and 2~ White is more versatile...you can throw another color under it, mix up the shoes and/or other accessories & have a whole different outfit!  "My" outfit totals:  $166.92!!  That's a savings of $192.06!  You could get a whole second outfit with the savings!  :)

Here's the breakdown:  Cardigan, WalMart $15.  Blouse, Old Navy $26.94.  Jeans, Old Navy $39.94.  Handbag, ShoeDazzle $39.95.  Necklace, Jewelry Queen $3.11.  Ring, Overstock Jeweler $16.99.  Shoes, Amazon $24.99.

To make it even less expensive, you can do a simple green tank, instead of the blouse.  The one below is only $9.00 at Target, and comes in a variety of colors!

**Also, right now at Old Navy, they're offering up to 50% off and FREE shipping online.  Up to 75% off in stores!  So, you could possibly cut the price of the blouse and jeans in HALF (or more!).  If you aren't a ShoeDazzle member already, when you join, your 1st item is 20% off, so you could get the bag for $31.96.

So, what do you think?  How'd I do?!?!  I'd love to hear feedback.

Shoe of the Day # 11

Meet Danielle.  Now, I've been looking at Danielle since I first saw her, and I alternate between thinking "UGLY" and "Really Cute"!

Danielle also comes in black, but for some reason, I like the gold better.  Thoughts?  Would you put Danielle in the Ugly category, or the Really Cute category?  I'm definitely starting to lean towards Really Cute.  Especially with the outfit below!

Outifit:  Shirt/Jeans, H&M.  Necklace/bracelets/shoes, ShoeDazzle.  Handbag, JustFab.

**Don't miss out on yesterday's post, if you aren't already a member of Julep! It is a monthly Nail Polish/Mani/Pedi club!  Get your 1st month for ONE PENNY (code "SHAREON")!!  You can sign up, place your order, then cancel after you receive it if you don't want to stay a member, but for a penny it is definitely worth getting the 1st order!  You get 2 polishes & a couple extra things, depending on what package you choose!

Nail Polish Lovers! Meet "Julep".

I know there are LOTS of ladies out there who are as much in love with mani's/pedi's/nail polishes as I am with shoes, so I figured I'd share my latest find!  Julep.  In a nutshell, Julep is a mani/pedi club.  You get the seasons hottest polish colors and/or trends every month for $19.99 (see end of post for code to get 1st month for a PENNY)!!

Signing up for Julep is similar to signing up for the shoe clubs (Shoedazzle, JustFab, etc), where you take a "Style Profile/Quiz" so that they can select colors/products they think you will like best.  If you don't like what they choose, you can browse other selections and order one of those, or just skip the month!  No credit card info is asked for until you place your 1st order. When you sign up and place your 1st order, you become a "Julep Maven" (Maven perks include a referral program:  refer 2 friends, get a month for yourself FREE!).

My quiz pinned me as a "Bombshell", which I DID like the colors in that package, however, I REALLY liked the red & silver in "American Beauty", so that is the package I chose!

Need more info?  Here's a bit from Julep's site:  Julep's beauty experts will compile a beautifully packaged box with over $40 worth of runway nail color and leading-edge, professional quality Mani Care and Pedi Care products. You'll be treated to a Julep favorite nail color each month, along with award winning products like our Julep Facial for Hands Glycolic Scrub, Julep Everyday SPF Hand Cream, all natural Julep Essential Cuticle Oil (with roller-ball). Everything you need to be fashionably on-trend and beautifully manicured!

What you'll get:
Over $40 worth of gorgeous, long-wearing, and toxin-free nail colors along with cutting edge mani and pedi products that are just your style
  • New releases and cult favorites - delivered FIRST to you, before anyone else
  • 20% off all julep.com purchases (not valid on gift certificates or Maven subscriptions)
  • Free shipping
Still not sold?  I wasn't either.......UNTIL a friend on Facebook posted a code (thanks, Jessica T) to get the 1st order for $0.01!  Yes, ONE PENNY.  This is not a joke, or spam, or any kind of trick.  I placed my order yesterday, was charged ONE PENNY, and already received an email saying my order was shipped (I can post a copy of my email/receipt for skeptics, if you need proof).  Seriously, anyone can afford a penny!  Sign up & get your order!  Not sure when/if the code ("shareon") expires (I did use mine yesterday 12.20.11 and it worked) so hurry!  Not into mani's/pedi's?  It makes a GREAT gift set for mom/sister/friend for her birthday (and they don't need to know you only paid a penny)!

Shoe of the Day # 10

Hello, hello!  Its been a couple days since my last Shoe of the Day post.....sorry!  Had to finish Christmas shopping, then yesterday had to go to Boston for a check up (I was diagnosed with eye cancer in 2008) so I haven't really had too much time to find a shoe and post it!  :)

Anyways!  How are all of you doing?  Got all your Christmas shopping done (or whatever preparations you do for the holiday that you celebrate)?  If you're like me, you could use a little eye candy right about now (hey, its the ONLY candy that won't go right to the "muffin top"!).  So, meet Akasha!  Shiny black patent, and glittery gold.  Ahhh, I'm in lust!

Ohhhh, boy.  If I didn't just spend all our money on Christmas gifts, I would 110% order these!!!!  For those who have followed the blog for awhile, you know I can NOT wear pumps...they flip flop off of my feet (yes, I've tried going down 1/2-1 size, tired the heel grips, etc. Nothing works).  HOWEVER, this Mary Jane style I could SO wear!  With that cute gold strap, my feet would stay secure in the shoe.  Ohhh, I want.  Hopefully these will still be in stock when my budget allows for a splurge!  Yes, they're only $39.95 (free shipping), however, Christmas REALLY puts a dent in the budget, and we always have to play "catch up" for a month or so afterwards.  Oh, well.  I can fantasize!  ;)

Shoe of the Day #7

Jalaine.  This shoe has been out for a couple months now, and while I loved her (and still do), I did not order her.  Why?  Jalaine closely resembles Makeeda, which I have in 2 colors (blush and black).  Although, now that winter is here.....having more closed toe shoes WILL be a good thing, so I just may order a pair!  And, hey, let's not forget.....Jalaine looks like a cousin of Louboutin's Clou Noued which is reason enough to buy her!  ;)

Anyways!  That's my pick for today's Shoe of the Day!  And, here is a quick idea I threw together on how to style her!  What do you think?  I kinda have a hard time coming up w/new styling ideas......as my "go to" look is a black shirt, nice jeans, & different funky accessories.

Outift:  Shirt/pants, H&M.  Earrings, Send the Trend.  Shoes:  Shoedazzle.

Shoe of the Day #5/Louboutin Look-Alike

Today's shoe is "Siobhan".  Why did I choose Siobhan?  Simple.  Siobhan closely resembles Louboutin's Daffodile 160mm (which retails for $1,095) but has the more budget friendly price tag of $39.95!!

Siohban in taupe
If you read "gossip magazines" (which are my guilty pleasure...USWeekly, InTouch, Life & Style) or watch entertainment news shows (E! News, Extra, etc) then the shoes may look familiar.  Celebs LOVE "Daffodile", and are seen wearing them, fairly often.

Beyonce
Fergie
Heidi Klum
Side by Side comparison in teal (photo done by ME).  Not EXACTLY alike, but definitely close!!
Side by Side in taupe (also done by ME).
Opinions?  Like them?  Leave them?  I know some of you ladies are VERY against "knock offs".  I'm okay with them, as I am hardly able to afford a pair of $1,000 shoes.  Plus, while very similar, there are enough differences that they're definitely not a "copy" of the Daffodile.  Hey, there is the saying "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" for a reason!  ;)

Idea for what to wear, just replace the black booties w/Siobhan (either color would work, really)!

Shoe of the Day # 4

Today's Shoe of the Day is "Bella", from ShoePrivee.  I was hesitant to choose a shoe from ShoePrivee, as I had 2 bad experiences with the company in the past, both due to billing issues.  However, I got an email recently, stating that they have done away with their Monthly Fee.  Since this was the issue with both my problems (one month I "skipped" the month, as you're supposed to and was billed anyways, the other issue was that I ordered a pair of shoes and was billed for them AND a monthly fee), I have decided to give them one more shot....you know...."3 strikes, you're out" type thing, because quite honestly, they do have some really cute shoes, and the brand "Pierre Dumas" (which is one of the brands ShoePrivee carries), in my experience has always been good quality and very comfortable (I have 3 pairs of PD shoes).

What do you think?  I LOVE Bella.  I think she'd be super hot at a Christmas Party (or, "Holiday Party" to be  Politically Correct)!!  Plus, Bella is on sale right now for 20% off, bringing the price down to only $31.96 (shipping is free)!

Idea for styling Bella
Total cost of outfit shown:  $136.85!  Shoes:  ShoePrivee, $31.96  Earrings/Bracelets: ShoeDazzle, $39.95  Clutch:  ShoeDazzle, $39.95  Dress: AXPARISUSA.COM, $24.99!  (It would cost less for me, as I never carry a purse/clutch....I always lose them, so I never bring them out)
